Uzbekistan is a country in  South-Central Asia located directly in the middle of the Silk Road, it is rich in history and steeped in colour. Samarkand is a city in south-eastern Uzbekistan and among the oldest continuously inhabited cities in Central Asia. Dating back to 1,500 BC, it was conquered by Alexander the Great and  is a UNESCO world heritage site. On special occasions Registan Square, in Samarkand is lit up at night. I was extremely lucky to capture this image on a beautiful summer evening with the magical lights in full display.

Fluid and beautiful draped scarves are the perfect way to dress up any outfit, wear art wherever you go and feel the history and magic of the silk road. I am proudly a Canadian female photographer and this scarf has been made locally in Canada.

• Made from 100% polyester fabric
