Samarkand is a city in Uzbekistan and among the oldest continuously inhabited cities in Central Asia, dating back to 1,500 BC and was conquered by Alexander the Great. It is a UNESCO world heritage site and on special occasions Registan Square, in Samarkand is lit up at night. I was extremely lucky to snap this image on a beautiful summer evening.
